ATHENS, ON - The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is proud to celebrate a major milestone in the redevelopment of long-term care services with the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new G Tackaberry and Family Home.

Warden Corinna Smith-Gatcke extended Council's heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of former Warden John L. Dancy.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is deeply saddened by the passing of former Warden, John L. Dancy, who proudly served with distinction in 1988 while serving as Mayor of the Township of Athens.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is pleased to announce that the temporary warming centre in Brockville will relocate to a new facility at 166 Pearl Street East. 

We deeply appreciate the compassion and care shown by community members and those working tirelessly to make a difference for those who are experiencing homelessness. 

Brockville, ON – Leeds and Grenville partners have secured $3.6 million in funding from Health Canada’s Substance use and Addictions Program (SUAP) to expand community-led initiatives addressing substance use and addiction.

Temporary Road Closure for Culvert Replacement Location: County Road 3 (0.35 km south of County Road 33) Start Date: Monday November 3, 2025 End Date: Friday November 7, 2025 County Road 3 will be temporarily closed between County Road 33 and Red Horse Lake Road with no through access to replace a cross culvert beginning on Monday, November 3, 2025 to Friday, November 7, 2025.

BROCKVILLE ON – The Leeds and Grenville Accessibility Advisory Committee is hosting a FREE event to assist businesses in learning how to make their businesses more accessible to people with disabilities. 

This weekend, the trails will be shared with horses for the Horse Poker Ride, an all-day event hosted by the Eastern Ontario Horses of Course Club.

On behalf of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, Miller Paving Limited will be responsible for the supply and application of Micro-Surfacing Type ll (Scratch and Surface Coat) and Slurry Seal Surface Treatment, complete with temporary (and later permanent) pavement markings, on County Road 5, County Road 18, County Road 26, County Road 32, and County Road 17.

At June's Counties Council meeting, the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville proudly recognized the exceptional career and retirement of Greg Davies a highly respected paramedic whose unwavering dedication to public service has spanned more than three decades. 

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville (UCLG) is currently updating its Asset Management Plan (AMP). 

As a part of the ongoing rehabilitation of County Road 22 (South of Heckston) between County Road 20 (Norton Road/Dillabaugh Road) and Latimer Road, a temporary road closure is required and will be implemented to accommodate several cross-culvert replacements.   The temporary road closure will be in place from May 26th until May 30th, 2025.
