As we celebrate the season of giving, the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville invites the community to help make the new G. Tackaberry and Family Home in Athens, Ontario, a place of comfort and care for its future residents.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville reminds residents of the following adjusted hours of operation at administrative buildings during the holiday season: December 24, 2025: Open from 8:00 am to 11:30 am. 

The Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service (LGPS) is enhancing mental health and wellness resources for its frontline staff through its dedicated Peer Support Team. 

Council received a presentation from Michael Cohen, President & CEO of Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital, who provided an update on the hospital.  

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville has approved the 2025–2035 Housing and Homelessness Plan (HHP), a strategic framework designed to meet the evolving housing needs of our communities.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is pleased to announce that all 637 Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) Directed Growth Strategy spaces allocated to the region by the Ontario government have now been approved, and construction and program development are underway.  

BROCKVILLE, ON - The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville has been named one of the first communities in Canada to receive funding through the Homelessness Reduction Innovation Fund (HRIF), a national initiative supported by the Government of Canada and the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness.

Eastern Ontario - Paramedic services across South Eastern Ontario and the Kingston Central Ambulance Communications Centre will implement a new system for 9-1-1 calls on Wednesday, February 5.

Athens District High School (ADHS) raises over $3,000 for Maple View Landings Redevelopment Project. 

Leeds and Grenville Counties Councillors have elected Corinna Smith-Gatcke, the Mayor of the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands, to serve as Warden for the 2025-2026 term. 

ATHENS, ON – The Maple View Landings Redevelopment Project (G. Tackaberry and Family Home) is set to receive a major boost with a charity volleyball tournament organized by students, taking place at the Athens District High School gymnasium on Saturday, November 16.

Friendly reminder that the deer rifle hunting season is open from November 4th to the 17th. We are “asking” all motorized users to refrain from using the trails during this short 2-week period so the hunters can have an opportunity to enjoy their sport.
