United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Mourns Passing of Jim Pickard

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is deeply saddened by the passing of former Warden and Counties' Councillor, Jim Pickard, who served with distinction in 2008.
 
On behalf of Warden Corinna Smith-Gatcke, Counties Council, and all staff, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Pickard’s family, friends, and the community he served so passionately. His leadership, dedication, and commitment to public service left a lasting impact on our region.
 
Statement from Warden Smith-Gatcke: "Mr. Pickard was a valued and respected municipal councillor and Mayor, serving his community for many years. We are saddened by the loss, and extend our deepest condolences to everyone who knew and loved him."
 
Jim will be remembered not only for his contributions to municipal government but also for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering support for the people of Leeds and Grenville.
 
The flags at Counties' buildings have been lowered to half-mast in honour of Mr. Pickard.
