A 15-bed shelter and programming for youth at risk of being homeless will receive additional support from a new provincial funding program. Be advised effective Friday May 8th, 2020 at 8:00am, the Total Open-Air Burn Ban has been LIFTED by ALL municipalities within the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, including the separated municipalities of Brockville, Gananoque and Prescott. The Ontario Fire Code states thatALL Open-Air Burning must be approved by the Chief Fire Official of your municipality, therefore residents are reminded to follow their municipalities Open Burning Regulations.

The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley, City of Brockville and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville (the affected municipalities) have drafted an agreement for the transfer of land (the annexed lands), located within the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley and United Counties of Leeds and Grenville to the City of Brockville by way of a boundary adjustment proposal pursuant to sections 172 and 173 of the Municipal Act, 2001, Chapter 25. Seasonal Load Restrictions During the spring thaw period, some roads within the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville cannot withstand heavy loads. The Counties load restriction is to reduce the allowable individual axle load from 10 tonnes to 5 tonnes.
