Summer Camps

Give your child a fun experience with summer camp. Our summer camp program subsidizes camp for clients of Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, and rent-geared-to-income tenants.

If you receive Ontario Works and/or rent-geared-to-income, contact your Case Manager to apply. If you receive ODSP, contact the Community and Social Services Division at 613-342-3840, extension 2119 to apply.

  • Children may get up to 10 days of subsidized summer camp.
  • Families getting Child Care Fee Subsidy are not eligible for the Summer Camp Program.
  • The maximum amount to be subsidized for the Summer Camp Program is $450 per child. This figure is based on the historical average cost of camp in Leeds and Grenville.
  • Children must be 14 years of age or younger to access this program.
  • Children under 4 years of age will not be funded for unlicensed camp programs.
  • You are responsible for finding a suitable Summer Camp program. You must provide information about the program dates, times and contacts.
  • Once approved, you will be given an approval letter to provide to the chosen summer program at the time of registration.
  • Transportation to and from the summer program is your responsibility.

Unlicensed summer camp programs must submit proof that they meet the Safe Drinking Water Act (O. Reg. 170/03) regulations.

If you select an unlicensed camp, the Case Manager will call the camp to make sure they are compliant. If a camp cannot show compliance, you may wish to select a different camp.

Camps run by licensed child care providers, or which are on municipal water systems are not subject to this verification. Water compliance is already examined through their respective governing/licensing bodies.

Unlicensed providers may contact the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit or the Ministry of the Environment to begin the water testing compliance registration process.
