Making money out of CO2 waste

One company’s emissions are another company’s opportunity.

Air Liquide Canada on Friday officially opened its carbon dioxide recovery plant here, located in the Johnstown industrial park on the grounds of Greenfield Ethanol.

The Air Liquide facility, which has been operating since late last August, captures raw CO2 from Greenfield’s waste feed and turns it into liquefied CO2 gas, for use mainly in the food, water treatment and manufacturing industries.

Local dignitaries held the official ribbon-cutting for the facility, which represents an investment of more than $30 million and has created 10 jobs.  Read the full story.
