Ground broken for BGH project

Politicians and hospital officials could barely be heard over the noise as they struggled against the wind beating on the tent and the sounds of construction behind them.

The latter, at least, they did not mind, as they held the long-awaited ground-breaking ceremony Wednesday for Brockville General Hospital’s multimillion-dollar expansion project.

“We just want to hear construction,” Mayor David Henderson told the crowd at the hospital’s Charles Street site, as the machines could be heard digging across Charles Street from the tent specially set up for the media event in inclement weather.
