Ford promises $680 million for internet

The provincial government is investing $680 million more to expand broadband across Ontario, bringing smiles to Eastern Ontario municipal officials who have been lobbying for improvements to rural internet.

In making the announcement Wednesday, Premier Doug Ford said the money, offered over six years, will top up the earlier-announced $315-million fund for broadband and internet improvements, bringing the province’s total investment to close to $1 billion.  Read the full story here.
