Brockville's 3M mask plant expected to hire in new year

As demand for N95 respirators grows, officials at 3M Canada are expecting to hire more people at the company’s Brockville mask plant in the new year.

“I feel very confident about producing respirators in Canada and meeting the needs of Canadians,” Penny Wise, 3M Canada’s president and managing director, said in an interview earlier this week.

Melissa Jurenas, a 3M Canada spokeswoman, confirmed the California Avenue N95 plant currently has 33 employees, up from 28 at its start, “and will ramp up even more in 2022 to above 50.”  Read the full story.
