Public Notice - Pesticide Use - September 14-30, 2026

The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority, Wagar & Corput Weed Control Inc., and the Invasive Phragmites Control Centre intend to control invasive Phragmites (Phragmites australis ssp. australis) within the following municipalities: Town of Greater Napanee, Loyalist Township, South Frontenac Township, Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands, Town of Gananoque, Township of Front of Yonge, Township of Athens, and the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley.

The Contractor will be using the following pesticides registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada) for terrestrial applications:

VisionMAX Silviculture Herbicide (PCP #27736), active ingredient Glyphosate (present as potassium salt), Timberline 360 (PCP #34209), active ingredient Glyphosate (present as isopropylamine salt), Roundup WeatherMAX with Transorb 2 Technology Liquid Herbicide (PCP #27487), active ingredient Glyphosate (present as potassium salt), and MSO Concentrate with Leci-Tech (PCP #28385), active ingredient methylated seed oil of soybean.

The following pesticides registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada) will be used for aquatic applications:

Habitat Aqua (PCP #32374), active ingredient Imazapyr (present as the isopropylamine salt), and Aquasurf Spray Non-ionic Spray Adjuvant (PCP #32152), active ingredient Surfactant Blend.

Pesticide use is in accordance with the exception to the cosmetic pesticide ban in subsection 7.1 (2) of the Pesticides Act for the promotion of public health and safety and for other prescribed uses for the purpose of managing, protecting, establishing or restoring natural resources.

This work will commence on September 14, 2026 (weather permitting) and conclude on September 30, 2026.
