Homelessness
Homelessness impacts our community in many ways. Rising inflation and a lack of affordable housing means it is harder for individuals and families to find and maintain housing.
In September 2021 with the help of other community agencies, we conducted a local Point in Time Count of people experiencing homelessness in Leeds and Grenville. The information gathered from participants was used to launch a local ByName List. The ByName List is a real-time list of people experiencing homelessness in our community. It helps identify the people who are most vulnerable in our community and tracks their progress toward long-term housing. Community agencies can use this list to understand the needs and barriers faced by people experiencing homelessness in order to provide more valuable resources and services.
