Child Care Fee Subsidy
Child care fee subsidy provides subsidies for licensed child care while you are at work or an educational/training program. Child care subsidies are available for children birth to 12 years of age.
Subsidy is also available for children with special needs who have been identified by social agencies or medical professionals.
Subsidy may be available for:
- Full or Half Day Programs
- Nursery School Half Day Programs
- Before and After School Care
- School Age Care (Summer or Professional Activity Days)

Eligibility |
Subsidy is based on your financial eligibility and "eligible hours" of care. Financial eligibility is determined using an income test. The income test uses line 236 from your Notice of Assessment/ Reassessment or Universal Child Care Benefit statement. Recent immigrants can still apply. You must provide your Notice of Assessment when you file your first tax return. Eligible hours are the hours in which you cannot care for your child(ren) due to work or education/ training. Your eligibility and the amount of your contribution are determined by a Case Manager at the time of application. |
Application Process and Waiting List |
Contact the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville to make an appointment with program staff. Staff will meet with you at any United Counties of Leeds and Grenville office upon request. When you book an appointment, please indicate the office where you want to be seen. You must bring your most recent Notice of Assessment (NOA) from Revenue Canada. Your eligibility cannot be determined until this information is received. Missed appointments and cancellations may affect your eligibility for subsidy. Your approval for Child Care Fee Subsidy will state:

Child Care Fee Subsidy Waiting List |
A waiting list for Child Care Fee Subsidy is created when there are more applications for Fee Subsidy than available funding. When there is a waiting list, applications are prioritized by date. Eligible families receive assistance as funding becomes available. |
Continuing Eligibility |
Files are reviewed annually or sooner if there is a change in family circumstances. It is your responsibility to advise your Case Manager of changes in contact information, address, income, and/or hours of work or school at the time of change. |
