Become a Volunteer
Do you like to read to children or are you a storyteller? Maybe you enjoy singing, dancing, playing or simply spending time with young children? Share your special talent or interest as a volunteer with the EarlyON Child and Family Centre. There are opportunities in Brockville, Kemptville, Prescott, Gananoque, and various rural areas.
Donating your time as a volunteer has many benefits:
Health Benefits - Volunteering can increase self-esteem, lower blood pressure, reduce social isolation, reduce the impact of stress, and help your body fight infection.
Learning Benefits - Volunteering can improve interpersonal and communication skills. Volunteers also learn about health, women, the environment, and politics.
Job Benefits - Volunteering allows you to practice skills that can help you get a job, or you may find work through the volunteer experience.
Other reasons that you might decide to donate your time:
- To use your special skills to benefit the community
- To fill free time
- To support something in which you believe, like early child development
- To learn about, experience, and train in the field of child care and family support
- To improve the quality of life of members of the community
- To develop strengths and skills
- To develop or enhance relationships
- To feel rewarded by helping others.
