Design Features

The design of the new home was developed based on input from residents, families, staff, volunteers, community members and supported by the Maple View Lodge Committee of Management and Counties Council. The process was guided by the goal of creating spaces that will welcome residents and their loved ones into a comfortable, home setting while supporting best practices and optimal workflows for the team of care providers.

Key features:

• The new home is laid out into six distinct Neighbourhoods. Thirty-two residents will live in each Neighbourhood and staff will support them with their day-to-day needs.
• Each Neighbourhood includes the residents’ private bedroom and spa spaces, dining spaces, various programming spaces that support group and one-on-one activities as well as an outdoor terrace located off the dining room.   
• The bedroom accommodations have been designed to reduce the risk of resident-to-resident transmission of infections by creating additional privacy and the ability to isolate (when necessary) and expanding bathroom facilities with dedicated sinks in basic accommodations (semi-private rooms) and dedicated showers in private accommodations (private rooms).
• Beyond the Neighbourhoods, there are community spaces including the Chapel, Gathering Space, Classroom, Boardroom, Wellness Clinic Spaces and a Café which is located adjacent to the secure garden.
