Facilities Management
The Facilities Supervisor oversees the maintenance of buildings owned and leased by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. Professional service contracts are managed through the Facilities office. Tenders for service or capital construction projects are posted on our Bids and Tender website.
Energy Consumption, Conservation and Demand Management
As part of Ontario Regulation 397-11 made under the Green Energy Act of 2009, all public agencies including municipalities, are required to submit and report on their annual energy use in designated facilities by July 1st of each year and post the data on the municipal internet and intranet sites as well as provide a hard copy at their head Office for interested members of the public. Beginning in 2013, public agencies were required to submit and post energy usage data for the first reporting period which was 2011.
The second part of the regulation requires public agencies to develop and implement a 5-year Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan to assist in meeting Ontario’s ambitious generation targets and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The intent of the plan is to improve the energy efficiency of our facilities, increase awareness of energy consumption and its impact on greenhouse gas emissions and to reduce the environmental impact of Counties operations.
