Committees and Boards
The Counties uses a Committee structure to process matters of importance. Issues that require the attention of Counties Council are generally first referred to an appropriate Committee for review, discussion and consideration. The recommendations of a Committee are forwarded to Counties Council for approval.
The Counties' also has a unique arrangement with the City of Brockville, Town of Gananoque and Town of Prescott to provide the services of Ontario Works, Social Housing, Child Care, Land Ambulance and Provincial Offences Act administration through a Joint Services Committee.
There are several local boards and committees established that provide residents with an opportunity to take an active role in local government. All Counties' Committee meetings are open to the public. Please visit our Council Calendar to see the dates and times of upcoming meetings and to view Agendas and Minutes or alternatively these documents are available on our Agendas, Minutes and Videos page.
In addition, the Counties is represented by Council members appointed to a number of external agencies, often along with their counterparts from neighbouring municipalities, including the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit.
