Leeds Grenville Council Highlights - April 2026

Public Works Projects (Roads, Bridges & Infrastructure)

Council approved several projects to repair and improve County roads and bridges, helping keep transportation safe and reliable:

• Road rehabilitation on County Road 4 (Phase 2), County Road 7 (Phase 2), and County Road 1 in Toledo.
• Bridge rehabilitation work on Wright’s Bridge and Leeder Bridge.

Counties’ Building Repairs & Upgrades

Council approved upgrades to maintain County-owned buildings:

• Elevator modernization at 3 Miller Drive in Mallorytown and 43 Centre Drive in Lansdowne.
• Replacement of large heating and air systems at 150 Stone Street in Gananoque.

Emergency Services & Public Health

Council approved an agreement allowing municipalities to assist one another during major emergencies. Council also approved a lease agreement providing office space for Southeast Public Health at 375 William Street South in Gananoque.

Governance, Staffing & Administration

Council received a quarterly update from the Economic Development department.

Council made several administrative decisions including:

• Appointing an Interim County Clerk / Manager of Legislative Services.
• Appointing a Deputy CAO and an Alternate Deputy CAO.
• Updating County human resources policies.
• Temporarily delegating certain decision‑making authority to the CAO during the transition period between councils.
