United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Mourns Passing of John L. Dancy

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is deeply saddened by the passing of former Warden, John L. Dancy, who proudly served with distinction in 1988 while serving as Mayor of the Township of Athens.

On behalf of Warden Corinna Smith-Gatcke, Counties Council, and all staff, we extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Mr. Dancy’s family, friends, and the Athens community.  Mr. Dancy was a dedicated public servant who cared deeply about his community and worked to represent the people he served. His leadership and steady presence at the Counties level are remembered with respect and gratitude.

John L. Dancy will be remembered not only for his service as Warden and Mayor, but also for his thoughtful approach to leadership and his commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Flags at Counties’ buildings have been lowered to half-mast in honour of Mr. Dancy.
