Council Highlights - November 20, 2025

Council received a presentation from Michael Cohen, President & CEO of Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital, who provided an update on the hospital.

General:

· Council received a report and supported the application by the Kemptville Primary Care Hub, for the development of an Interprofessional Primary Care Team.

· Council received a report and supported the application by the Lanark, Leeds & Grenville, Ontario Health Team, for the development of an Interprofessional Primary Care Team.

Council Actions:

· Council defeated a motion to approve additional funding for the Cooperative Care Centre, for the period from January 1 to March 31, 2026.

· Council passed Mayor Burrow’s notice of motion to release communications between the Counties and the Cooperative Care Centre, appropriately redacted, regarding ongoing requests for financial information.

· Council passed By-law No. 25-94 to set tax rate reductions for prescribed property subclasses for County and local municipal purposes beginning in the year 2026.
