Homeownership ComponentImage of new home

The Investment in Affordable Housing (IAH) for Ontario - Homeownership Component is intended to make homeownership affordable to low and moderate income households.  It provides down-payment assistance in the form of a forgivable loan to eligible first-time homebuyers.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and currently renting accommodations within the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.  Applicant households may not have previously owned a home or have a vested interest in any residential property.   Funding is limited, and is allocated to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-approved basis subject to availability.  Household eligibility is subject to income limits and eligible homes are also subject to a maximum purchase price.  Applicants must provide verification that they have been pre-approved for a mortgage by a primary lending institution.

Eligibility criteria are included in the Homeownership Fact Sheet  and a Homeownership Application is available for download by clicking the link, or can be obtained at any Community and Social Services Division office
