1000 Islands Region Workforce Development Board

1000 Islands Region Workforce Development Board logoThere are 25 Local Workforce Boards across Ontario. Each conducts grassroots research and actively engages organizations and community partners in local labour market development. Each Local Board area is unique with its own characteristics to reflect the community it serves. As part of the Ontario community, Local Boards collaborate on activities that expand the local boundaries and maximize resources.

The Local Boards initiative was launched in 1994 and has been traditionally jointed funded by Service Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. In 2007, as a result of the Labour Market Development Agreement between the federal and Ontario governments, responsibility for Local Boards has been transferred to the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities under Employment Ontario.

During Community Consultations, The 1000 Islands Region Workforce Development Board identified a need for easy and convenient access to Human Resources for Businesses. This HR Hub was developed to meet this need and act as a portal to relevant and current available resources.  Go to the HR Hub
