Costs of electrical power in Ontario are low by international standards and special rates are available for large industrial users. The Regulated Price Plan (RPP) Time-of-Use (TOU) Prices are now in effect (November 2015). Prices are subject to change every six months. See the chart below. Weekends and holidays are off-peak and the cheapest price during both the winter and summer periods.

Two peak seasons: Summer and Winter weekdays - In summer, electricity use peaks during the hottest part of the afternoon (noon to 5 p.m.). In winter, less daylight means electricity use peaks twice (7-11 a.m. and 5-7 p.m.)
