Household Hazardous Waste

The County operates two Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) day events each year. These events are usually held the third Saturday in August (at the County Patrol Garages in Lansdowne and Frankville) and the last Saturday of September (County Patrol Garages in Spencerville and Kemptville).HHW is accepted from residents of the County including the towns of Gananoque and Prescott.  Waste is not accepted from residents of the City of Brockville or from commercial businesses.

This program is administered by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville in conjunction with Stewardship Ontario. Now known as "Orange Drop", this recycling program is aimed at keeping hazardous and special waste materials out of Ontario's landfills and waterways. The Orange Drop Program allows Ontarians to return designated materials to local Municipal HHW Depots, retail sites and HHW collection events across Ontario. Visit the Orange Drop website at www.makethedrop.ca

Please contact your local municipal office to confirm times and dates of the next HHW day in your area.
